Pilea are typically small, soft-stemmed plants that either trail or form a low bushy pile. They propagate easily from stem and leaf cuttings and will also readily produce pups around their base. They like strong indirect light but typically no direct sun, and like many other common tropical plants want to be watered moderately when almost but not totally dry. When happy they can be aggressive growers, and like Peperomia (with which they’re often mistaken) they are all non-toxic.
